Sustainable experiences that transform the university

By: Alejandro García Suárez – Advisory Office for Communications.

The Directorate of University Social Interaction (ISU) invites the academic and administrative community to participate in the internal competition “Sustainable Experiences that Transform, Sustainable University 2026”, an initiative that seeks to recognize and highlight the good practices that contribute to sustainable development within the institution.

The call for proposals, led by the University Social Responsibility (USR) area, will be open until April 24, the deadline for submitting initiatives developed by faculties, academic programs and administrative units.

This strategy aims to identify experiences with environmental, social, economic and institutional impact, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the institutional commitment to sustainability.

“We seek to recognize best practices, build an institutional bank of replicable experiences, and promote social and environmental innovation at the University,” highlighted Jenny Alexandra Páramo Aragón, director of ISU.

In addition to showcasing the work already being done in different areas, the competition promotes the exchange of knowledge and the strengthening of responsible management that positively impacts the territory.

At UCundinamarca, University Social Responsibility is consolidated as a strategic axis that integrates sustainability into education, institutional management, and the relationship with the community.

For her part, Angélica María Guzmán Pérez, manager of University Social Responsibility, stated that, “this commitment is reflected in the consolidation of an institutional model that incorporates sustainability as part of its identity, evidenced in achievements such as the sustainability seal, the certification in Social Responsibility and the implementation of the EFR (Family-Friendly Company) model, which promotes the balance between work, personal and family life.”.

Sustainability is understood as the balance between three fundamental dimensions: the environmental, focused on the protection of natural resources; the social, oriented towards well-being and inclusion; and the economic, centered on efficient and responsible management.
