“The Second Meeting for Dialogue of Knowledge in Education for Civic Coexistence sought to bring together young people, men and women from different regions of the country to share their experience in education in solidarity economy, in order to identify good practices and lessons learned from solidarity and popular education,”, teacher Luis Alfredo Vargas pointed this out.
The meeting was attended by representatives of national organizations such as the Cooperative University of Colombia, the University of Gran Colombia, the University of Cundinamarca, the Network of Researchers in Social and Solidarity Economy (UNICOSOL), the Institute of Social Economy and Cooperativism (INDESCO), the Central for Cooperative Integration and Training (CINCOOP), the National Federation of Alternative Media, and delegates from the departments of Valle del Cauca and Vichada.
The academic event originated in a meeting of the national board of the Global Curriculum Campaign for the Solidarity Economy, who were notified about the development of a research project related to the "contribution of solidarity economy organizations to the development of the province of Ubaté" endorsed by the University of Cundinamarca.
The Global Curriculum Campaign for the Social and Solidarity Economy aims to mobilize wills and resources to build a Global Map of educational initiatives for a Social and Solidarity Economy carried out in formal, non-formal and popular contexts around the world.
Furthermore, the ADCODER research group of the Public Accounting program has research groups working on topics related to the characterization of solidarity economy organizations in each of the municipalities that make up the province of Ubaté. Other researchers are working on recognizing the achievements of these solidarity economy organizations in some countries, in order to assess what has been achieved in Colombia.
