As part of the Engineering-Environmental Week, held at the beginning of October in the Girardot branch, several activities were developed for the university community that contributed to raising awareness of the care and preservation of the environment.
This week, students from the Environmental Engineering program at the local branch planted 600 ocobo trees, the emblematic tree of Ibagué (Tolima). The planting took place from the Agua Blanca village to El Arbolito, a location adjacent to the municipality of Girardot, which aims to reforest the area to improve the quality of life for its residents.
In addition to the conferences, discussions were held with representatives from La Estrella (Antioquia) who emphasized the importance of water in cities and, therefore, the care and rational use that should be given to this resource.
