This year the English Program organized the day -English Day- about the glorious moments of Colombian sport that covered history and interesting facts about cycling, skating and soccer.
This fun and educational event aimed to integrate the academic community of the different programs around the practice of the language in a fun setting, motivating attendees to practice English in everyday contexts.
“Activities like these allow us to become familiar with a second language in a fun way and put into practice what we have learned in the classroom,”, Camila González, a Business Administration student, points out.
The event began with a tour of the different stands where each student and teacher in charge represented the main figures of national cycling, soccer and skating, through a timeline.
It is worth noting that the Institution is committed to a bilingual University through academic spaces in the English area, such as immersion programs, bilingual outings and guided tours, and singing competitions, among others.
For Juan Pablo Morales, a student of Sports Science and Physical Education, “These activities are important becauseWe can make functional use of the language in a playful and fun way, where we see the use of English in a completely different context.”
It is worth noting that English Day is held every semester at UCundinamarca in order to strengthen bilingualism and the appropriation of this language among students.
