On October 25th, the sixth session of discussions with the Rector for the socialization and development of the Transmodern Digital Educational Model was held at the Girardot branch. This session was divided into two parts: one for students, attended by approximately 300 people, and a second for approximately 100 professors.
The educational purpose of this model is to prepare students for life, instilling democratic values, civic responsibility, and freedom. It focuses on the individual and their holistic development so that graduates become agents of change in their communities.
The structure of the educational model is based on 4 pillars: learning, technology, ethics and knowledge, through the multidimensional field method of institutional, cultural and disciplinary learning, explained Adriano Muñoz Barrera, rector of UCundinamarca.
The day unfolded in a dynamic dialogue with students, professors, and graduates, who offered constructive critical reflections and, in turn, called upon the University's leadership to continue strengthening the academic program and the continuous improvement of administrative processes.
For their part, the student leaders of the branch urged the Senior Management to continue with the institutional management before the Ministry of National Education in order to seek the updating of the transfer value, since per student it has gone from $ 4,080,822 in the year 1993 to $ 1,383,166 in 2016; resources that would allow strengthening the teaching area, research, laboratories and infrastructure, among others.
The event was led by the University Rector, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, the Director of Self-Evaluation and Accreditation, Ángela María Merchán, the director of the Girardot branch, Juan Carlos Méndez Forero, and the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Ricardo Acosta.
Also in attendance were representatives to the Institution's Superior Council, Javier Hernando Gracia Gil, representing the professors, and Mario Fernando Ortiz Almanza, representing the Graduates.
The discussion will take place on November 7th at the Fusagasugá headquarters, in the Emilio Sierra Baquero auditorium.
