Athletes excel in National Volleyball

The UCundinamarca Volleyball team had an outstanding performance at the 5th National Volleyball Championship 2025, held in Icononzo, Tolima, from November 15th to 17th. The tournament brought together talented athletes from across the country and allowed them to showcase their progress and commitment.

The team's coach, Brandon Esteven Álvarez Gómez, reported that the club competed with 35 athletes aged 13 to 18, in both male and female categories. During the competition on November 15th, the under-15 categories achieved outstanding results.

  • Men's branch: three wins in four matches.
  • Women's branch: two wins in three matches.

These achievements allowed them to advance to the next phase, where they faced high-level rivals. Although they did not advance further, the coach emphasized that, for their first national tournament, the results obtained in just four months of preparation were highly positive.

On Sunday, November 16, the under-15 teams returned to competition and battled hard in every match. The boys' team won one out of four games, and the girls' team won one out of three, demonstrating consistency and dedication on the court.

Álvarez Gómez thanked the athletes for their effort and dedication, as well as the parents for their continuous support during the sports process.

The coach also announced the upcoming competitions:

  • November 23: participation in the competition organized by The Flight of the Condor, at the Carlos Lleras School, Santander School and the Industrial Technical Institute of Fusagasugá, with two female and two male teams in the under-15 formative category.
  • November 28, 29 and 30: training festival organized by the Academic Sports Center (CAD) and the Volleyball Discipline Committee, for minimum, under-12 and children's categories, in both branches.

UCundinamarca continues to promote sporting talent and strengthen its youth programs, demonstrating that discipline and teamwork are the path to competitive growth.
