UCundinamarca joins the breastfeeding week

For the second consecutive year, the Girardot branch, through its Nursing program, is participating in the photographic and cultural project: Tetarte, the art of breastfeeding from an empowering perspective.

‘'Tetarte' reaches its seventh version and the Nursing program, Municipal Health Secretariat, the ICBF and a maternity collective of the city, seek to promote and make visible breastfeeding, as a human and natural act in the breastfeeding mothers of the region, from the academy.

The university's participation in the Tetarte photographic and cultural project coincides with the celebration of World Breastfeeding Week this August. Mary Luz Monroy Rubiano, a professor in the Nursing program and coordinator of Tetarte Girardot, emphasized this point:“We are promoters of breastfeeding; breastfeeding is life, it provides nutrients, helps with physical and cognitive development, and creates an emotional bond between mother and baby. Breastfeeding is a natural act.
