Nursing students, the University Welfare Health Unit, and the Friendly Unit recently held an extensive event called HEALTH WEEK, aimed at students, faculty, administrative staff, and the community in general. CASSA UDEC provided support in chronic patient management and cardiovascular follow-up, while the Secretariat of Economic Development addressed body image and self-esteem.
In addition, workshops were held on stress relief, relaxation techniques, healthy lifestyles, public health insurance training, vaccination of dogs and cats, screening, blood pressure measurement, weight, body mass index, psychology, sexual and reproductive health, health prevention (breast self-examination, testicular self-examination and cytology), feminine and male hygiene, family planning, dentistry, counseling for young people regarding the consumption of psychoactive substances, workshops on sexually transmitted diseases, among other activities.
The institution's occupational health team presented the regulations, proper handwashing techniques, and workplace health and safety practices. Representatives from several health insurance providers (EPS), the youth leadership group Jóvenes en Acción (Youth in Action), and the Girardot Mayor's Office Health Department participated in the activities.
Due to the large community participation, it is certain that a great focus and support has been provided regarding the health and well-being of the internal and external community.
