UCundinamarca, Family-Friendly Entity

“The University of Cundinamarca recognizes that being and family are fundamental pillars of society, which is why we are committed to work-life balance. This certification validates and strengthens our work with the university community,” stated Rector Adriano Muñoz during the efr certification ceremony held on April 11 at the Chía campus, presented by the Másfamilia Foundation.

Dr. Muñoz received the certificate and distinction as a family-friendly entity from Roberto Martínez, director of the efr initiative of the Másfamilia Foundation. With this, the University of Cundinamarca becomes the only public Higher Education Institution in Ibero-America to obtain this recognition.

“During December 2023, we underwent an audit by Icontec. They subsequently issued a report, and the Másfamilia Foundation, after reviewing and evaluating the findings, issued its opinion, granting us certification in work-life balance management. The University of Cundinamarca is family-friendly,” explained Patricia Gil, Director of University Social Interaction (ISU) and efr Manager.

It is worth highlighting that UCundinamarca has been working on the Reconciliation Management Model for more than three years, with University Social Responsibility being the starting point for the institutional commitment to the values of balance, flexibility and responsibility.

We are pioneers

The Másfamilia Foundation presented UCundinamarca with an award for being among the first 100 companies to join the efr community in Colombia. “You paved the way for companies to transform and move towards work-life balance, with systems that ensure the well-being of employees,” said Roberto Martínez of Másfamilia.

For 21 years, the Másfamilia Foundation has promoted work-life balance in Latin America, aiming to create more humane societies. Colombia has the second-highest number of companies certified as family-friendly.
