At the Facatativá Extension of UCundinamarca, the first discussion with the University Rector, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, took place, with the participation of 460 attendees including students and professors, who were presented with the Translocal Digital Pedagogical Model and the advantages it brings to the university community.
This model, constructed by the institution's rector, is based on the pillars of Translocality, Transmodernity, and Globalization, focusing on the formation of the human being with the capacity to defend democratic values, civility, and freedom, being that agent of transformation in the scenario where he finds himself.
The event featured the participation of Estela Quintar, a member of the Institute of Thought and Culture in Latin America (IPECAL), who asked students about their conception of a Transmodern and Translocal University. She then added that to achieve this construction, commitment, creativity, and re-articulation are necessary, because otherwise, the construction of a 21st-century university would not be possible.
For their part, the students stated that to achieve a transmodern university, it is important that the Academy promote art and emphasize spiritual formation over technical skills, since only in this way would it be possible to contribute to forming a well-rounded professional who defends values and works for transformation.
The UCundinamarca administration invites professors and students to participate in the other scheduled discussions, as this will allow us to move faster in building a true 21st-century educational institution.
