Conversation between Chia and Zipaquirá

The rector of the University of Cundinamarca, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, has scheduled a discussion at each of the institution's seven campuses throughout this semester in order to carry out a participatory construction of the transmodern digital model.

In his address, the rector emphasized the importance of developing an educational model for being and life that incorporates democratic values in the areas of ethics, learning, knowledge, and technology. This model, presented by the rector, is based on the pillars of Translocality, Transmodernity, and Globalization, focusing on the formation of individuals capable of defending democratic values, civility, and freedom, and empowering them to be agents of transformation in their respective environments.

“The University of Cundinamarca must educate well-rounded individuals with the capacity to transform their environment,” Muñoz emphasized. For their part, students and professors expressed the importance of music within the university's policy, highlighting it as a form of education that is co-created, personalized, and contributes to building a fundamental part of humanity.

During the discussion, attendees appreciated the intervention of the Spanish philosopher Rosa María Rodríguez Magda, a graduate in Educational Sciences from the University of Valencia, who pointed out that transmodernity is an interactive and diverse form in the educational model, "It offers us a synthesis between the material and fiction, which is shown as a hybrid, totalizing and dialectical formula of the modern thesis.".
