On August 20, the Faculty of Education and the Directorate of Self-Evaluation and Accreditation held the self-evaluation socialization day in which 105 people participated, including students, teachers, graduates and administrative staff, who were presented with the progress of the reaccreditation process and, in addition, were invited to participate in the working groups in order to carry out a weighting exercise.
It is worth highlighting that the following topics were emphasized during the meeting: the 2016 improvement plan, the 2017-2019 maintenance and improvement plan, the schedule, activities, and the curriculum redefinition process.
“You are very important in this Self-Evaluation process since we need your input, as you contribute to achieving the expected results,” said Aura Álvarez Lara, Dean of the Faculty of Education.
Similarly, the Director of Self-Evaluation and Accreditation, Víctor Hugo Londoño, invited those present and the community in general to continue contributing and supporting the reaccreditation of the social sciences program, which currently has 240 students, future professionals who will uphold the name of our alma mater.
In turn, the Director of Self-Assessment and Accreditation explained that the process has the following phases:
1. Preparation and socialization
2. Weighting
3. Information gathering
4. Issuance of quality judgments
5. Report Structuring
6. Formulation of the improvement plan
7. Final document
Currently, “we are in phase two, but by December, the goal is to have the draft report ready so that corrections can be made at the beginning of 2020, and so that we can submit the final document by June 2020,” added the Director of Self-Assessment and Accreditation.
On the other hand, the Self-Evaluation Committee was presented during that day, which is made up of students, curriculum committee, professors, graduates and administrative staff.
The Bachelor of Social Sciences program has a historical strength, which is the length of time it has been operating with qualified registration in the department, in addition to the research processes that are quite solid, since it has groups that generate projects for internal and external calls, carrying out presentations, socializations, events and books.
Similarly, the educational practice in public schools is highlighted, where classroom projects, interaction work and support for teachers are generated; strengthening constant interaction, feedback and productivity for students.
