On September 22nd, at the Zipaquirá extension, a space was opened, aimed at the educational community, to talk about the circular economy in the construction sector and its good practices, promoting sustainable consumption and production.
The talk, given by the Regional Autonomous Corporation (CAR), was led by Environmental Engineer Andrea Lara, who is also a graduate of UCundinamarca. She explained that since she was in the classroom she was made aware of the importance of implementing the circular economy in organizations, which is characterized by the use of renewable sources, less waste generation and optimization of flows, among other methods linked to the National Circular Economy strategy.
“These types of spaces are of vital importance to our University, since we are focused on strengthening ourselves as a green university, which is why the new Zipaquirá campus will have solar panels and green terraces based on sustainable construction.
It is worth mentioning that the activity, which was opened to the UCundinamarca, also included important companies from the construction sector such as Conaltura, with sustainability certification as a unique "B" Company in Colombia, and the company Camacol, presenting and teaching its circular economy methods.
These are some of the environmental practices they implement and shared with the event attendees:
These kinds of actions contribute to raising awareness of environmental and sustainability issues in all public and private organizations. It is an environmental commitment we have today to future generations.
