After two months of joint preparation between teachers and the cross-curricular area of English, students from different academic programs successfully carried out the academic, recreational, and cultural event English Day, in the Emilio Sierra Baquero auditorium.
The English Day event aimed to promote the practice and development of communicative skills in the English language within the University, an event that had the participation of around 310 people, including students, the general public, professors and artists.
The participants enjoyed a parade that highlighted, among other aspects, displays of typical regional costumes described in English amidst an ornate afternoon of lights, music and lively attendance, a space that allowed interaction with the public.
“English Day brings together students from different faculties under a common interest, allowing participation in various activities necessary for the development of the event and a space for interaction to practice and enjoy English, within real activities that transcend the classroom, as was the case here with the highlighting of typical Colombian values,”, explained the English coordinator, Adriana Paola Bendek Rico.
Likewise, attendees enjoyed urban music shows, hip hop, breakdancing with the Urban Dance group, plus a performance by guest singer María Paula Torres, who provided the musical entertainment. I can help falling in love with you from by Elvis Presley.
