The CAD Academic Sports Center continues to strengthen its formative sports processes with the outstanding participation of the Children's Cycling team in the First Valid of the Saurios Cup 2026, held on February 15 in the municipality of La Calera, Cundinamarca, one of the most demanding competitive events on the regional calendar.
The event, endorsed by the Bogotá Cycling League, brought together the main children's cycling schools in the department and featured the participation of 315 athletes in the Push Bike and MTB categories, establishing itself as a key setting to measure the competitive level and technical progress of the training processes.
The team's coach, Carlos Andrés Lote Pérez, explained that the institutional delegation consisted of six athletes: four in the Push Bike modality and two in MTB Initiation, who demonstrated commitment, discipline and sporting evolution during the competition.
In the MTB Initiation category, Numar José Bueno Villamil finished fourth, standing out for maintaining a consistent competitive pace and remaining with the lead group for much of the race. Meanwhile, Miguel Alejandro Velásquez Correa took sixth place, demonstrating solid technical skill and good control of the course.
In Push Bike, Sara Arango Muñoz achieved fourth place in the 2022 category, demonstrating outstanding coordination, balance, and competitive spirit. Dominic Stiven Anzola Nieto finished in eighth position, while Elian Samuel Barbosa González took tenth place, both showing significant progress in their training.
One of the most outstanding results was that obtained by Josué Matías Tovar Navarrete, who reached third place in the 2021 category, thanks to an excellent race reading, rhythm control and a competitive finish that confirmed his sporting progress.
In total, the delegation obtained three positions within the award range (from first to fifth place), reflecting the team's competitiveness against one of the highest levels of regional children's cycling.
The competition conditions unfolded normally, in a cold climate during the early hours of the day, and with an organization that guaranteed safety and adherence to the schedule, without any significant incidents or falls being recorded.
From an institutional technical analysis, the coach stated that the team demonstrated a suitable accumulation phase within the training process, with significant progress in starting technique, balance, and rhythm control. Looking ahead, the team will continue to strengthen aspects such as final changes of pace, competitive strategy, and explosive power.
He also highlighted the exemplary behavior of parents and chaperones, who provided constant support to the athletes and contributed to strengthening sporting values and institutional representation.
Participation in the 2026 Saurios Cup allowed us to assess the team's true competitive level, consolidate our experience in official competitions, and set new sporting goals. The results obtained reflect the commitment, discipline, and continuous growth of the training process, reaffirming the institution's pride in its young athletes and the impact of sport as a platform for holistic development.
