The 3rd Cartography Seminar included the identification and recognition of the use of geomatics elements, the methodological, conceptual and theoretical developments that have been recently built in this discipline, in addition to the social analysis of land distribution in the country within the framework of point number one on the agenda of the peace process.
The event facilitated the exchange of ideas and the joint construction of knowledge among students, professionals, and researchers in the fields of cartography, topography, geography, and related sciences in the exploration of procedures, methods, and techniques that employ software, instruments, and other geographic information technologies for the study of urban spaces.
“Considering these elements represents a contribution to the training of students in the Cartography program and to the general public, since it allows an approach to the topics that are being addressed in these particular fields of knowledge and the recognition of the methods of analysis and procedures for cartographic production in recent times,” explained Lorena Becerra Martínez, the leading teacher of the event.
