The virtual slots are intended for undergraduate, master's and doctoral training, with a focus on data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
The digital transformation of the government depends not only on buying software, opening online procedures, or modernizing platforms. It also requires public servants capable of understanding data, using artificial intelligence, protecting sensitive information, and redesigning processes that still rely on paper, queues, and delayed responses.
For this reason, several mayoral offices, governorships and territorial entities, in alliance with Educa Edtech Group, opened a call for applications to award 100 international scholarships in virtual mode. The places will allow students to study undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, with an emphasis on key areas for the modernization of the public sector..
The initiative has the participation of the mayoral offices of Bogotá, Soacha, Bucaramanga and Pitalito, in Huila, as well as the support of the Atlántico Governorate, which shows that the call will have national reach, so public servants from other regions will also be able to apply.
The program comes at a key moment for the country, considering that Colombia has more than 1.4 million public servants, but only about 31% (three out of ten) have specialized studies, master's or doctoral degrees.
That gap can affect the The State's capacity to respond to citizens in an increasingly digital age, In addition to companies that demand faster procedures and administrations that need to make decisions with evidence that is easy to verify, share and store.
Given this scenario, the academic offering includes programs related to artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, digital transformation, public administration, innovation, leadership and organizational management.
“When a public official receives better training, the benefit isn't limited to their resume. It also translates into more efficient procedures, better decisions, and more useful services for the public,” explained Tatiana Fuentes, manager of Educa Edtech Group and leader of the scholarship allocation operation.
The virtual format of the scholarships will allow officials from intermediate municipalities, regional capitals, and remote areas access international programs without leaving their territories, This is key for entities with small teams or limited mobility, given that it is essential that all workers nationwide receive training.
The studies will be developed with the Da Vinci University, in Mexico, and the Università Telematica eCampus, in Italy.. The first offers online programs with Official Recognition of Studies from the Mexican Ministry of Public Education, verifiable on the SIRVOES website. The second is part of the network of online universities recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, and its programs are therefore considered effective in strengthening the skills of public servants.
Those interested can apply until July 26, 2026 and follow these steps to advance in the process:
Since the degrees will be issued by foreign institutions, applicants will have to Review the validation process with the Ministry of National Education if you want the degree to have academic or employment effects in Colombia., especially for promotions, competitions or accreditation of requirements in the public sector.
