Icetex scholarships: learn about all the open calls for applications

The dream of many young people is study abroad, However, this goal is often thwarted by the high costs involved in tuition at a foreign university, as well as living in another country.

However, there are several forms of assistance from different organizations that offer scholarships to students, which makes it easier to study outside of Colombia at some of the best universities in the world. Icetex It is one of them.

These are the calls for proposals of scholarships that Icetex currently has open and that are about to expire.

Master's degree in Spain

The program is aimed at professionals in fields related to the programs offered by the Enae Business School (Business, Economics, Administration among others), who preferably have professional experience in the area of the program or work in public or private entities in matters directly related to the program to be carried out.

What does it cover?

It covers 40% of the tuition fee. All other costs must be covered by the student (airfare, food, accommodation, health insurance, stipend, etc.).

Requirements

The applicant must have final admission or be in advanced stages of the process to Enae Business School.

Must be over 23 years old and under 60 years old, have a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.7/5.0 (specialization certificates are not accepted).

Having a good knowledge of English language (only for the program taught in English) with a minimum score: TOEFL (IBT): 95 points, IELTS: 7.0) or another test from officially endorsed institutions, which describes in percentage or numerical terms the ability in oral expression, listening comprehension and writing ability, with a minimum level of C1.

Ideally, candidates should have at least 1 year of professional experience in matters related to the program to be developed and be in good physical and mental health.

Dates:

Registration closes on June 4th. The program lasts 10 to 12 months, and classes would begin in October.

Postgraduate studies in Canada

This call for applications is for postgraduate programs at universities in the province of Quebec. This region attracts students from all over the world, making it a top study destination due to the various advantages it offers international students.

Each year, more than 50,000 students from different countries choose to study in Quebec.

What does it cover?

Scholarship covering 70 percent of tuition costs for either master's or doctoral programs.

Requirements

The applicant must be over 23 years old and under 65 years old, have a minimum grade point average of 3.7/5.0 (specialization certificates are not accepted).

Ideally, have at least one year of professional experience certified by a university or training center. scientific research, a technology development center or a Colombian company in the public or private sector.

The applicant must have final admission to a master's or doctoral program (as the case may be) at a Quebec university for the fall term of 2021 and possess excellent knowledge of French or English (according to the levels required by the different universities).

The applicant must be in good physical and mental health.

What academic programs can I apply to?

The scholarship applies to postgraduate studies in the following areas: Agri-food, Agriculture and Livestock, Nutrition, Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods, Rural Development, Land Management, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Development and Renewable Energies (including water and natural resource management and forestry sciences), Early Childhood Services, Educational Sciences (training, evaluation, administration and school adaptation), Management Sciences, Financial Services and Management (including Taxation), Information and Communication Technologies, Literature, Quebec Studies and French Language Teaching, Public Safety, Political Science, Law, Cinematography, and Civil, Industrial and Electrical Engineering.

Dates

Those interested have until June 10 to apply.

The studies will last 24 to 36 months and will begin in October.

OAS scholarships for master's degrees, doctorates and research

The program is aimed at university graduates in different areas of knowledge who have a defined study plan framed within the objectives and priorities established in the Comprehensive Strategic Plan of the OAS.

Those interested in pursuing master's degrees, doctoral studies, and postgraduate research leading to a university degree from any accredited university or higher education institution in any of the OAS Member States, with the exception of the sponsoring country, in this case, Colombia, may apply.

What does it cover?

It covers 70 percent of the tuition fee, with a maximum limit of USD$10,000 per academic year.

It also includes a monthly stipend for books or materials, health insurance for in-person studies, a fixed monthly subsistence allowance, and airfare.

The scholarship is awarded for a minimum period of one (1) academic year and a period of no more than two (2) academic years.

It is conditional upon the continued availability of OAS funds, the student's good academic performance during the first academic year, and confirmation by the academic institution of renewal for the second year.

The applicant must be over 22 years old and under 65 years old, have a university degree (undergraduate or master's, as the case may be) at the time of submitting their application to Icetex, have a minimum average of university grades (only undergraduate or master's, as the case may be) of 3.7/5.0 (specialization certificates are not accepted).

What academic programs can I apply to?

Scholarships are awarded for study at academic institutions in any of the OAS Member States, including those participating in the OAS Consortium of Universities (the Consortium).

Candidates apply directly to their desired study programs in any area of knowledge.

Dates

Applicants can apply until July 1st. The studies will last 1 to 2 years and will begin in September.
