The visit by academic peers yielded a positive outcome.

From May 26 to 28, 2021, the Animal Science program at the Fusagasugá campus received a visit from Dr. Álvaro Burgos Arcos (University of Nariño) and Mario Fernando Cerón Muñoz (University of Antioquia), academic peers appointed by the National Accreditation Council (CNA), for the external evaluation process with a view to the high-quality accreditation of the program.

During the three days, the academic peers verified aspects related to the progress in the implementation of the Transmodern Digital Educational Model, MEDIT and the curricular redefinition, relationship and management of teachers and students, national and international visibility, progress of academic, research and external sector relations processes, physical and financial resources, university welfare, graduates, as well as the organization and administration of the program to achieve its quality achievements.

“The assessment is highly satisfactory according to the verbal conclusions issued by the academic peers to the University Administration, highlighting as strengths the way in which MEDIT is being implemented, the way in which the curricular redefinition was addressed, the profile, experience and sense of belonging of professors, the proactive attitude of the students, the impact of the graduates in the social and academic environment, the availability of educational resources, laboratories and the La Esperanza Agro-environmental Unit, the solidity and progress in the processes of science, technology and innovation and in the relationship with the external sector and the support that the University has provided for the deployment of processes that contribute to the assurance of academic quality and the culture of self-evaluation,” said Víctor Hugo Londoño Aguirre, Director of Self-Evaluation and Accreditation (FA)

The process continues with the written report that the peers will send to the CNA so that this body can generate the respective recommendation to the Ministry of National Education in relation to the high quality accreditation for the evaluated program.

The Directorate of Self-Evaluation and Accreditation will be informing the university community of the final results of the process and will continue working on consolidating the self-evaluation processes with a view to the accreditation of the programs as input for institutional accreditation.
