Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences Seeks High Quality Re-Accreditation

Who does the accreditation?

The institution must seriously and responsibly undertake a deep, sincere self-evaluation capable of assessing its successes and failures, both in the accumulation of the requirements necessary for good academic quality, and in the processes and results through which it aims to strive for excellence.

Accreditation must be based on an evaluative process that not only accounts for a specific situation at a given time, but also for a dynamic process within the institution, highlighting the achievements obtained over a period of time, the goals that have been set, the planning that has been envisioned to achieve the objectives, and the mechanisms and resources agreed upon to carry them out.

Academic peers, appointed by the National Accreditation Council, examine the relevance, truthfulness and effectiveness of the internal process and the results of the self-evaluation in light of the quality criteria and instruments defined by this Council.

The National Accreditation Council, composed of academics who preside over the entire process, organizes the procedures, oversees them, attests to their quality, and finally recommends to the Minister of National Education to accredit the programs and institutions that deserve it; it also sets growth targets that have not yet been reached, according to agreed quality levels.

The Minister of National Education is responsible for issuing the accreditation act.
