The Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics receives a visit from Academic Peers

On March 13 and 14, UCundinamarca at the Fusagasugá campus will receive a visit from Academic Peers from the Ministry of National Education in order to carry out the external evaluation for the purpose of High Quality accreditation of the Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics.

The agenda began with the institutional presentation, led by the university rector, Dr. Adriano Muñoz Barrera, who offered a welcome greeting to the coordinating peers Óscar de Jesús Londoño and Lina María Gallego Berrío, and the representatives of the university institution: the dean of the Faculty of Education, Irma Rubiela Calderón de Zéqueda, the director of the Program Jorge Luis Pitalua, the director of Self-evaluation and Accreditation Ángela María Merchan, the head of the Office of Academic Development Lily Johana Tibavija Rodríguez, and other directors present.

The rector indicated that the Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics incorporates best practices for the professional training of 21st-century Mathematics teachers, whose quality is generated through the articulation of teaching-learning processes, pedagogical and educational practice, research and innovation in Mathematics Education.

The mathematics program is one of the cornerstones of our institution; this is evidenced by the historical records that account for more than forty years of professional training and permanence in the region, noted the rector, Adriano Muñoz.

During this visit with his peers, the rector also highlighted the academic commitment, faculty qualifications, and continuous improvement of the Mathematics program. The program prioritizes quality, which is achieved through the integration of teaching and learning processes, pedagogical and educational practice, research and innovation in Mathematics Education, university interaction with the educational, productive, and service sectors, and the internationalization of its curriculum.

Among the activities on the agenda are the meeting with the Directorate of Institutional Self-Evaluation and Accreditation, the Directorate of Research, University Welfare, the Curriculum Committee, a tour of the laboratories and practice center, among others.
