The Board of Directors of the Colombian Association of Universities, Ascún, recognized the University of Cundinamarca on its fiftieth anniversary for its trajectory, excellence and effectiveness in academic, administrative, research and social projection processes, as well as its leadership and fulfillment of commitments with social responsibility.
The distinction, awarded through a golden plaque, represents the highest honor and recognition bestowed upon UCundinamarca on its 50th anniversary. It celebrates the university's social commitment to the comprehensive education of Colombian professionals at the undergraduate and graduate levels, incorporating global consensus and best practices in university governance through teaching and learning, research, innovation, and university interaction.
This tribute is a homage to the work of the directors, teachers, students, graduates, administrative staff and other academic community who have helped to build the history of the higher education institution in the department for five decades.
The distinction awarded to the University of Cundinamarca was made within the framework of the National Council of Rectors Ascún, which took place last March at the Technological University of Pereira (Risaralda), an event that brought together 78 rectors and delegates from public and private universities in Colombia.
The event was attended by the Vice President of the Republic, Martha Lucía Ramírez; the Minister of National Education, María Victoria Angulo; and the Vice Minister of Higher Education, Luis Fernando Pérez Pérez, among other officials of the National Government.
