Human rights: part of professional training?

On July 11, 2017, at the Fusagasugá campus of the University of Cundinamarca, the General Assembly of the National Rabbit Production Chain was held. The purpose of the assembly was to share with stakeholders the progress made by the Technical Council, of which the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (Animal Science Program) of the University of Cundinamarca is a member, representing the academic community. The assembly also addressed the conditions and challenges facing the national rabbit farming industry.
Additionally, part of the process of characterizing production systems was carried out as input for formulating the national policy for this chain. This event was attended by 45 rabbit producers from Cundinamarca and Boyacá. Entities such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development participated in the event (Carlos Muñoz of the Directorate of Livestock, Fisheries and Aquaculture Chains). The Colombian Agricultural Institute ICA (Diana Patricia Dallos Rodríguez of the Technical Directorate of Animal Health). The University of Cundinamarca (Luis Miguel Acosta Urrego, Professor of Animal Science and member of the Technical Council of the Rabbit Chain).
The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences highlighted the consolidation process of the rabbit farming chain from the municipality and the Department, the importance of interaction with the productive sector, inter-institutional support and the expectations of strengthening and organizing livestock production systems.
It is worth highlighting the representation of the Agrarian Bank, the Secretary of Agriculture and Environment of Fusagasugá SAMA and the Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development of Cundinamarca.
