Recently, members of the National Accreditation Council (CNA), during their visit to the University of Cundinamarca, concluded that the academic programs of Electronic Engineering, Zootechnics at the Fusagasugá campus, and Music at the Zipaquirá Extension meet the initial conditions to begin the self-evaluation process for accreditation purposes.

The CNA highlighted the Institution's evident commitment to quality, which is evidenced by the significant transformations achieved, such as the fact that the academic and administrative community recognizes the favorable changes that the University has had since 2015 and that are supported by the Strategic Plan 2016-2022 and the Development Plan 2016-2019.
Among the strengths to highlight is the adequate infrastructure in each of the locations for the programs mentioned, including the Center for Agro-environmental Studies – La Esperanza Agro-environmental Unit for training in Animal Science, as well as other strengths evidenced in its physical plant.
Likewise, the sense of belonging felt by both faculty and students to the institution and the work they do for the benefit of the community; the support provided to the student body by faculty, not only academically but also in terms of well-being and counseling; and the institutional support for artistic and cultural creation are all noteworthy. It is worth highlighting that students appreciate the institution's consideration of their opinions and that their evaluations of faculty performance lead to improvements.
Another significant strength is the institution's strong support for research that involves active student participation. Today, the university has 52 research groups, 22 of which are categorized by Colciencias: one in category A, one in category B, and 20 in category C. There are also 52 researchers classified by Colciencias: 8 Senior, 12 Associate, and 32 Junior.
Furthermore, the CNA recommends that the University consolidate its ongoing improvement plans. These plans should prioritize strengthening faculty, faculty and student mobility, expanding postgraduate programs, further developing the research model, increasing academic productivity and publication in indexed journals, establishing international and national agreements, and engaging alumni in the Institution's activities, among other continuous improvement initiatives.
It should be noted that the University of Cundinamarca, led by the Directorate of Self-Evaluation and Accreditation and other academic units, will incorporate into the program improvement plan the recommendations suggested by the National Accreditation Council to continue advancing in the process of institutional quality in its various areas in order to provide better conditions for it.
