Adapting to change is part of life

Adapting to technology-assisted work was one of the biggest challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic; however, as the months passed, people adopted new lifestyles in which not leaving home to work or study became part of their daily routine, and now they resist changing it.

“I don’t think people are afraid to leave their homes, because for about seven months they’ve been going to public places and there’s no fear of the virus. But now there’s a resistance to change; they don’t want to go back to the office or the classroom to do their old jobs because their bodies and minds have gotten used to the home environment and what it entails,” explained Diana Vigoya, a psychologist with a master’s degree in health psychology.

However, it is necessary to return to change, and for this it is necessary to be willing to adapt and get used to sharing time and space with family, coworkers or classmates, neighbors, leaving home, and this is overcome with personal will, awareness, generating new habits, and with a good attitude.

In that sense, the important thing is "to continue with the protection measures and increase healthy lifestyle habits to strengthen the immune system and be alert to any type of symptoms in order to receive the relevant information, but until next year, approximately, we will be in the dynamic of care," the psychologist pointed out.

Sleep hygiene, healthy eating, fluid intake, fruit and vegetables, and vaccination are recommendations made by the teacher, who affirms that the virus is and will probably continue to be part of that life to which we will have to adapt.
