An approach to the social reality of Sumapaz

The academic event aimed to connect UCundinamarca students in participating in research focused on solving regional problems and contributing to public policies for building social fabric.

The event was attended by students from the Faculty of Administrative, Economic and Accounting Sciences, and among the contributions to highlight are the institution's strong commitment to training and educating for life, democratic values, civility and freedom; also linking students and the rest of the community as social actors to generate possibilities for social well-being; as well as making the Sumapaz province visible with its agricultural and conservation production projects, and the strengthening of the environment from academia, among other aspects.

“Through these academic spaces, projects can be developed and our region strengthened. The Sumapaz province generates productive opportunities for men and women, making it important to contribute with meaningful strategies for economic growth, improve the quality of life of the region's inhabitants, and seek the conservation of its natural resources,” highlighted Yudy Constanza Rojas Ruiz, a faculty member.

The activity carried out on May 12 was conducted virtually through the Skype platform and included the participation of the faculty, the National Police of Colombia, Sumapaz province section, Planeta Rural foundation, Business Management and Sustainability Research Seedbed, and the University's Center for Innovation, Technology and Organizational Management.
