Human rights: part of professional training?

In the auditorium of the Ubaté branch, the University of Cundinamarca presented its Accountability Report for 2017, outlining the administrative and mission-related management of the institution as outlined in the 2016-2026 Strategic Plan and the 2016-2019 Development Plan, initiatives that are currently underway.
The UCundinamarca Accountability Report for 2017 was presided over and led by the Rector, Adriano Muñoz Barrera; the Academic Vice-Rector, Orlando Blanco Zúñiga; the Administrative and Financial Vice-Rector, Myriam Lucía Sánchez Gutiérrez; the Director of Institutional Planning, José del Carmen Correa Alfonso; and the Director of Internal Control, César Mauricio Moreno Castillo.
During the day, the directors presented to the academic community and citizens present at the venue, as well as to society in general through the official digital communication channels of the University of Cundinamarca, the management achieved in the previous year.
Among the main mission aspects of the 2017 period, the achievement of 24 categorized research groups before Colciencias was highlighted, one with category A, 39 categorized researchers and two patents of beans for the Sumapaz Region.
Likewise, as a result of the continuous improvement of educational quality that the University of Cundinamarca has been making, the high quality of the Bachelor's Degree program in Basic Education with Emphasis in Social Sciences was achieved; the Certification of Good Livestock Practices (BPG) granted by the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) to the La Esperanza farm of the Fusagasugá campus; the ISO 9001:2008 Recertification of the mission processes and the consolidation of the Learning Fields (academic events).
Other relevant points delivered in the report are the provision of libraries and laboratories, the acquisition of supplies, materials, and equipment for different areas of the faculty, as well as the implementation of the academic support management application on the institutional platform that allows for improved provision of online educational services for the use of academic spaces and bibliographic material.
In terms of infrastructure, the start of work on the construction of the building that will house the library and research center of the Fusagasugá Campus was highlighted, in order to continue contributing to the management of knowledge and bibliographic resources for the benefit of students, teachers, staff and the community in general.
The event, coordinated by the Office of Institutional Planning, was attended by approximately 350 people, including administrative staff, faculty, students, community members, and media representatives.
