Academic experience in Brazil

By Alejandro García Suárez – Communications Advisory Office

Luisa Fernanda González Galindo, a seventh-semester student in the Sports Science program at the Soacha campus and a member of the Progressio Kids research group, was selected as a Student Ambassador and is currently participating in an academic exchange at the Federal Institute of Sul de Minas Gerais in Brazil. This experience is made possible through the University of Cundinamarca's "Dialoguing with the World" program.

For Luisa, this trip represents much more than an exchange program. “It strengthens my research skills, allows me to learn about other cultures, explore new sports, and confirms that education transforms lives when combined with a passion for physical activity and teaching,” she stated enthusiastically.

Furthermore, she encouraged other students to follow her example: “If you join a research group, you could go as far as you dream. Opportunities exist for those who dream and research. I encourage you to apply; these experiences broaden our worldview and enrich our professional and personal development,” she stated.

Carlos Alberto Romero Cuestas, Knowledge and Learning Manager for the Sports Science program and leader of the Progressio Kids research group, emphasized that research groups at the University are spaces where students can explore research based on their own interests. “With Luisa, there are now five students from the group who have had this international experience. It’s an opportunity to learn new languages, discover other cultures, and delve deeper into their areas of interest,” he explained.

The University of Cundinamarca, through programs such as Dialoguing with the World, continues to pave the way for its students to experience global opportunities that enrich their education and prepare them to transform their environment through knowledge and passion.
