The institution continues to make its mark through the impact and leadership of its graduates. A prime example is Ricardo Alberto Monroy Salcedo, a certified public accountant who graduated in 2016 and now holds a senior management position at the renowned company Tostao, leading financial management processes that generate strategic results and contribute to organizational growth.

His professional career began at Ernst & Young as an audit staff member and later at Grupo Colpatria as a tax analyst, where he took on significant challenges in the tax field. There, he strengthened his expertise in accounting, financial reasoning, and trust management in real estate projects.

Driven by personal and professional growth, in 2019 he decided to travel to Australia to strengthen his second language skills and broaden his global perspective. Upon returning to Colombia, he resumed his career at Constructora Colpatria as an accounting coordinator, leading complex processes such as the liquidation of historical projects and the consolidation of financial teams.

Thanks to his performance, he was promoted to director of accounting and accounts payable, a role from which he assumed the consolidation of international financial statements, understanding tax and regulatory dynamics in Mexico and Peru, an experience that broadened his strategic perspective of the business.

Later, a new professional opportunity arose when she joined Tostao, a challenge that meant transitioning from the construction sector to retail. There, she has led key processes in financial reorganization, strategic analysis, and business sustainability, contributing to corporate decision-making and strengthening the business model.

Among his main achievements, he stands out for managing tax benefits derived from energy efficiency projects, which allowed the company to recover nearly 2 billion pesos in VAT, in addition to leadership in financial analysis, budgets and organizational growth strategies.

Ricardo acknowledges that his time at UCundinamarca was pivotal in his professional and personal development. “The University prepared me for life, not just for a profession. Today, I apply that learning to every decision, understanding that knowledge should generate impact and transformation,” says the graduate.

Stories like his reflect how the life skills education promoted by UCundinamarca fosters professionals capable of taking on global challenges, leading strategic processes, and contributing to business development from an ethical, human, and transformative perspective.
