The students of UCundinamarca excelled in the SABER PRO and SABER TyT tests, thus demonstrating that, despite the pandemic situation and technology-mediated education, the students remain firm in their desire to succeed, this was demonstrated on April 24, 2021 when the institutional results arrived.
“The quality of education at UCundinamarca goes beyond academic performance; however, we are aware that a student who has well-being in all aspects of their life stands out in all aspects, in addition to the passion for what they studied,” explained Dr. Juan Carlos Méndez, director of the Girardot branch.
At the Girardot branch, Olga Lucia Borda, a graduate of the Tourism and Hotel Management Technology program, stated that throughout her working life she worked in the hotel and tourism sector and that's how she discovered her vocation for service and motivated her to enter the University.
Olga Lucia is a mother and wife, roles she fulfilled admirably despite having to work and study. Her family was a great source of motivation for her to achieve her dream, and she received their unwavering support to pursue her studies.
“The main objective of this decision was to enhance and expand my theoretical and practical knowledge of the tourism sector and, thus, be more competitive in the job market. Today, I am grateful for the support of my family and the Diocese of Girardot, to which I am currently affiliated. I definitely love what I do, and that has helped me achieve these results,” said Olga Lucia.
The graduate explains that the experience allowed her to learn and meet a group of excellent classmates and a faculty dedicated to teaching and the continuous improvement of education. “This recognition I receive today is proof that it’s never too late to learn, and that with effort, dedication, and love for what you do, you can achieve great things.”.
For her part, Adriana Rodríguez, coordinator of the Tourism and Hotel Technology program, stated that Olga Lucia, “distinguished by her leadership and perseverance, very active in participating in program events, motivating her colleagues and involving them in her proposals and ideas, always clear and relevant in her contributions, which demonstrates where you are and that you can go very far. Congratulations on this achievement and keep going!”.
Likewise, the director of the branch, Juan Carlos Méndez, highlighted the values and dedication of the graduate and thanked her for upholding the name of the Institution.
