120,000 scholarships for AI training in Latin America by 2025

In Latin America, more than 88,000 people participated in the Google Career Certificates on cybersecurity, data analysis, project management and artificial intelligence.

Technology is a real generator of opportunities as long as it is accessible to everyone. Several years ago we created Grow with Google, an initiative that offers training in digital skills to boost personal and professional growth. Since then, more than one million people Our professional certifications have been completed worldwide, thanks to the joint work with allies in the public and private sectors who share our commitment to education and talent development.

In Latin America, by early 2025, more than 88,000 people had participated in the Google Career Certificates on cybersecurity, data analytics, project management, and artificial intelligence. And more than 701% of graduates reported job improvements in the six months following certification.

That's why this year we continue to reaffirm our commitment to the region: we are announcing the awarding of 120,000 new scholarships for the development of digital skills and artificial intelligence in Latin America. These scholarships are available in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, and Chile, and are being distributed in collaboration with local organizations that share our mission to expand access to knowledge: Fundación Compromiso (Argentina), Talento Digital (Chile), Women in Tech (Peru), Colnodo (Colombia), and the Ministry of Education (Mexico).

Thanks to these scholarships, thousands of people will be able to access for free a series of professional certifications focused on the development of digital skills and two short courses on artificial intelligence: AI Fundamentals, and a new course, Google's Prompting for AI Fundamentals, which is being added to the program this year.

This new course, focused on the fundamentals of Prompting for generative AI, teaches how to give clear and specific instructions to generative AI, to streamline everyday tasks and provide value to users.

Towards a future with AI skills
We know that professional development today also involves preparing for tomorrow's challenges, and artificial intelligence is at the heart of this transformation. According to the World Economic Forum, six out of ten workers will need to reskill by 2027. At Google, we recognize the importance of people acquiring the skills necessary to thrive in this new environment. In fact, we are already seeing concrete results: 811% of those who completed the AI Fundamentals course globally say that these skills will improve their job performance.
