118 trained through Social Projection

The UCundinamarca trained 118 people through the Public Accounting Program, within the framework of its social outreach programs led by the teacher Yanira Patricia Barrera Ávila.

The Faculty of Administrative, Economic and Accounting Sciences, through its Program of Public Accounting From its social outreach, it provides advice and training to vulnerable communities that have some type of business initiative; a primary function of our UCundinamarca, reflected within its strategic axes, which seeks to include society in academic and research work through community engagement, allowing it to contribute to solving the specific problems that afflict our society.

Each of the community outreach initiatives undertaken by the program stems from problems within the surrounding community, fostering a vital interaction that bridges theory and practice, thus giving the institution its purpose. The training sessions conducted are part of the project led by the instructor. Yanira Patricia Barrera Ávila “Strengthening the human and social fabric through training and business creation for vulnerable populations, as a commitment to post-conflict in the Sumapaz region.”.

Single mothers, micro-entrepreneurs, council members, community action boards, people with disabilities, and young people, including a Venezuelan, were trained. This group was eager to acquire knowledge to strengthen their skills and enter the workforce with new skills that will allow them to continue growing professionally. The courses were held on Saturdays, with a total of 48 hours of instruction. Participants gained knowledge in accounting (Module I and Module II), essential for their professional lives and for strengthening businesses in the region.

This project also allowed for collaboration with the Secretary of Family and Social Integration, signing a framework agreement that has already provided support to single mothers for three semesters, with seed capital to start their businesses.

As a result of this project, a Basic Entrepreneurship and Accounting Manual – Module I was generated, which will allow for the permanent consultation of the knowledge acquired during the development of the courses, creating a Entrepreneurial Generation, always seeking to contribute to maximizing the use of productive resources and to the economic and social growth of the people of Cundinamarca.
