1,608 students join the UCundinamarca family

The induction week concluded with the participation of students and parents, who enjoyed workshops and sports, recreational and cultural activities.

Between August 1 and 3, the University of Cundinamarca, led by Rector Adriano Muñoz Barrera and his management team from each of the branches and extensions, welcomed 4,889 new students entering the different undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs.

The induction, led by the Directorate of University Welfare and carried out at the Main Campus, Extensions and Branches of the Institution, through integration, sports, recreational and cultural activities; workshops for parents focused on university life; meeting with the academy and topics related to the university as a family, had the purpose of encouraging various initiatives of the UCundinamarca, among which the education for life and the promotion of the family institution stand out.

During the day, the University Welfare coordination of the different campuses presented its portfolio of services in the areas of culture, sports and recreation, health promotion, socioeconomic programs and safety and health workshops, library services, computer rooms, laboratories, auditoriums, among other services, as well as the facilities that are part of the academic training of the future Udecino professional.

Fusagasugá Branch

“Welcome to this 21st Century University, your home and your family. This is an opportunity to take a basic, but substantial, tour of who we are and our mission to educate for life, democratic values, civility, and freedom.”, "This was expressed at the opening of the induction by the acting academic vice-rector, Pablo Emilio Flórez Vargas.".

At the Fusagasugá campus, new students enrolled in the programs of Business Administration, Public Accounting, Agronomic Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Bachelor of Social Sciences, Zootechnics and Cartography Technology, as well as postgraduate students in the Specialization in Environmental Education and Community Development, Specialization in Management Information Systems, Specialization in Business and Electronic Commerce, Specialization in Pedagogical Processes of Sports Training; and in the Master's in Environmental Sciences and Master's in Education.

The new students who interacted with the academic and administrative staff of the University learned institutional information about the comprehensive service portfolio offered by University Welfare, which aims, among other aspects, to improve the quality of life, harmonize and guarantee the permanence of students in the Institution through socioeconomic programs, exemptions and health promotion and prevention projects.

Girardot Branch

The administrative director of the Girardot branch, Juan Carlos Méndez Forero, and his team welcomed the new students of the undergraduate programs in Business Administration, Nursing, Environmental Engineering, Technology in Tourism and Hotel Management, and the postgraduate program in Environmental Education and Community Development.

New students and parents from the branch participated in the workshops "Being a Professional," "Induction to University Life," "UCundinamarca Culture Generation 21st Century," "University of the Family," and "Encounter with the Academy," as well as the presentation of the platforms and virtual classrooms, and other academic services.

Ubaté Sectional

Through cultural, sporting and integration activities, the administrative director of the branch, Miguel Alejandro Flechas Montaño, and his team, welcomed the students of the Business Administration, Public Accounting, Systems Engineering and Zootechnics programs.

Chía Extension

New students enrolled in the Business Administration, Public Accounting, Systems Engineering, and Master's in Education programs were welcomed by the extension director, Juan Carlos Torres Sandoval.

Facatativá Extension

For three days, new students from the undergraduate programs of Business Administration, Public Accounting, Agronomic Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Systems Engineering and Psychology, and professionals starting postgraduate studies in Management for Organizational Development, and Environmental Education and Community Development, got to know the university campus and carried out university life workshops in order to generate a sense of belonging to the Institution.

The orientation at the campus was presided over by the rector, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, the administrative director, Carlos Fernando Gómez Ramírez, and extension officials, who gave a warm welcome to the new students and highlighted the importance of belonging to the University of Cundinamarca, an institution that constantly works for continuous improvement.

During that week in Facatativá, the University of Family workshop was held, an activity that allows parents to be informed about the continuous support and assistance that the student will have throughout their university life, in order to generate confidence and security during their training process.

Soacha Extension

The University Welfare theater at the extension campus was used for orientation week. There, students from the Sports Science and Physical Education, Industrial Engineering, Software Development Technology, and Specialization in Pedagogical Processes of Sports Training programs entered our institution with the goal of realizing their dream of becoming professionals.

The administrative director of the extension, Fabio Julio Gil Sanabria, highlighted during the induction week the active participation of the students and the support that parents should provide in the students' educational process.

Zipaquirá Extension

The extension director, Juan Carlos Torres Sandoval, and his team gave a warm welcome to 88 new students to the Music program.

During the induction day, the directors presented the academic spaces, instruments and other physical musical resources that UCundinamarca has for the appropriation of knowledge and the development of skills and abilities specific to their musical training that allow them to perform as a professional musician.
