Cundinamarca University is advancing its commitment to internationalization, an essential component of its Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT), through the “Dialoguing with the World” program. Recently, the institution's Fusagasugá campus hosted three professors from the National Technological Institute of Roque, Mexico: Erick Fabián Rodríguez Segura, Jesús Frías Pizano, and Blanca Cecilia López Ramírez. Their visit underscores the importance of academic mobility in strengthening ties between both institutions and enriching the educational experience.
Erick Fabián Rodríguez Segura highlighted the value of this exchange: “Mobility is essential both for the University of Cundinamarca and for our institute in Mexico. On this occasion, three of our managers are participating in academic programs at UCundinamarca, specifically in Agronomic Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Business Administration with a focus on business management.”.
Rodríguez Segura also highlighted the relevance of UCundinamarca's Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT) in the current global context: “We are struck by how the educational model is oriented toward strengthening translocality, connecting students with global realities without losing their territorial identity.”.
For his part, Jesús Frías Pizano, a researcher at the Tecnológico Nacional de México, shared his experience, emphasizing: “Faculty exchange is a very pleasant experience, as it has allowed me to get to know an excellent university, but above all, the opportunity to work and live with highly qualified professors, in addition to enjoying a beautiful city with plenty of vegetation, which is why it is called the garden city of Colombia.”.
During their stay, from May 5 to 16, the Mexican professors actively participated in UCundinamarca's academic agenda, sharing their knowledge and experiences through workshops, lectures, and meetings with students and faculty. This exchange helped strengthen the translocal approach of the MEDIT model, promoting a broader and more connected view of the world.
At the end of their visit, the faculty members emphasized the value of academic mobility for professional development: “These mobility experiences allow us to broaden perspectives, strengthen knowledge, and take valuable learnings back to our universities, enriching the academic and professional fields,” they concluded.
