“Our challenge: to rank among the best universities,” Adriano Muñoz Barrera

From the Emilio Sierra Baquero auditorium at the Fusagasugá campus, with the attendance of more than 350 students, the socialization day of the development plan was broadcast via streaming to all students of the institution, which emphasized the need to collectively build a constantly growing university that will lead it to become a benchmark of success in public higher education.

“At this moment we are committed to obtaining high-quality accreditation for 4 undergraduate programs, but we will not be satisfied with this; we will begin to do so with all programs, because my dream is to make the University of Cundinamarca belong to the group of the best,” said Adriano Muñoz Barrera, rector.

It is worth noting that the academic institution works on continuous improvement, and proof of this is the new headquarters in Chía, which also has the construction of the pedestrian bridge in process, the modern English laboratories in Girardot, the delivery of a bus for the transfer of students from Soacha to the High Performance Center, Cercun in Fusagasugá for sports practices and the start of the construction of the new library, among other actions for the benefit of the student community.

However, the students agreed that it is a very big and difficult challenge to be ranked among the best universities in the country. Nevertheless, the rector encouraged them to participate in this process, which, although difficult, is not impossible, and which, with dedication and perseverance, can be achieved within 8 to 10 years.

“Our challenge is for UCundinamarca to rank among the best public universities in the country,” Adriano Muñoz Barrera, rector of UCundinamarca.
