First Day of the Socialization of the Development Plan with teachers
Through a Skype Business session that lasted about four hours, the teachers from each of the extensions and branches of our institution received the socialization of the Development Plan to advance in the implementation of the strategic academic, research, financial, administrative and mission guidelines.
The Directorate of Institutional Planning, the Academic Vice-Rectorate, the Administrative and Financial Vice-Rectorate, and the deans of Education, Sports Sciences and Physical Education, Systems Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences, Administrative and Accounting and Financial Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Political Science, successfully presented the strategic direction of the Rector's Development Plan 2016 to 2019 to the University's professors, who have the challenge of contributing to the formation of professionals with values and principles.
The rector of the University of Cundinamarca, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, urged teachers to make visible an educational model oriented towards knowledge management, entrepreneurship and the appropriation of social values.
“The commitment belongs to everyone; the call is to be builders of life. We must educate for life in democratic values, civility, and freedom,” Dr. Muñoz Barrera pointed out.
For his part, the academic vice-rector, Orlando Blanco Zúñiga, highlighted during the presentation that the Development Plan constitutes the university's mission management, which is aligned with the institution's continuous improvement plan in the institutional accreditation process that is currently underway.
In addition, Vice-Rector Blanco highlighted that the development plan will strengthen postgraduate training at the master's and doctoral levels, create the teaching school, and the language center for the consolidation of the bilingualism project.
Furthermore, during the presentation, the deans invited the teachers to analyze the new dynamic of the teacher as a knowledge manager in a social organization that seeks to educate for life, with skills and competencies typical of the 21st century generation.
Finally, the Director of Institutional Planning, José del Carmen Correa, emphasized the importance of the outreach exercise with the teaching community: “The Rector's Development Plan will allow us to measure, evaluate, and monitor the fulfillment of the institution's mission objectives through action plans.”.
