Through critical and constructive dialogue and reasoned ideas from students, teachers and administrative staff of the University, the programmatic agenda of the talks with the Rector is developed, in the socialization of the Rectoral Development Plan “Generation of the 21st Century” 2016-2019.
Following a proposed agenda, the Rector of the university, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, has put forward his rectoral plan for the institutional period 2016 – 2019; and his commitment to the new role of the university in the knowledge society, of a University as an agent of transmodernity and translocality, based on social qualities and mediated by information and communication technologies, also characterized as a high-quality academic, scientific, reflective, critical and interconnected reality for the 21st century.
In this order, its guiding plan is composed of six strategic axes: Translocal Institution of the 21st Century: From program accreditation to institutional accreditation; academic, scientific and formative culture; education for life, democratic values, civility and freedom; science, technology, research and innovation; internationalization: dialogue with the world, and digital university organization.
The strategic axes have been announced by the rector, academic vice-rector, and deans of the different faculties, in the talks held in each of the extensions and sections of the university.
It is worth noting that, during the discussions, the methodology for constructing the Development Plan has been presented through thematic tables and forums, which will be analyzed using strategic planning tools.
Similarly, the follow-up on the Opportunities for Improvement (OMIs), resulting from the discussions held in 2015, is being made public, documenting the projects that were managed and are currently underway. The following is a list of these projects:
Furthermore, the discussion held in Fusagasugá was attended by approximately 450 students, who participated in an active and reflective dialogue for 9 hours with university officials: Rector Adriano Muñoz Barrera, Academic Vice-Rector Orlando Blanco Zúñiga, Director of Institutional Planning José Correa Alfonso, and deans of the university's faculties.
During the discussion, the university leaders proposed a different methodology; a proposal that was readily accepted by the directors of the University of Cundinamarca, in favor of a scenario of respect, reasoned and constructive discussion for the University of the 21st Century.
It is worth highlighting the participation of the university community in general in the discussions; it has been active, responsible and committed to the University.
