By: Alejandro García Suárez – Advisory Office of Communications

The Institution continues to strengthen its commitment to internationalization and the construction of knowledge without borders through international academic mobility experiences. On this occasion, the Knowledge and Learning Manager of the Nursing Program at the Girardot Branch, Lady Carolina Díaz Jurado, develops an academic stay at National University of Piura (Peru), consolidating spaces for cooperation, research, and the exchange of knowledge.

During her stay at the Peruvian institution, the professor and doctoral student in Education has participated in activities related to clinical simulation, research, and the strengthening of professional competencies, promoting academic dialogue between the university communities of Colombia and Peru. “This experience has been a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, strengthen research processes, and enrich our academic practice from an international perspective,” highlighted Lady Carolina Díaz Jurado.

The manager noted that one of the most enriching aspects of the mobility has been the exposure to different social and cultural contexts, allowing her to understand how traditions, values, and community dynamics influence educational processes and comprehensive health care. “Knowing other realities allows us to broaden our perspective on education and health care, better understanding the needs of communities and the strategies implemented to respond to them,” she stated.

He also highlighted the promotion and prevention actions developed from a community-based approach in the Peruvian context, which are characterized by their closeness to the population and by responding to the particularities of the territory.

The experience has also made it possible to strengthen international academic cooperation networks, promote collaborative research projects, and generate opportunities for the development of new joint initiatives between both institutions. “Academic mobilities favor the construction of international networks, strengthen research, and contribute to training professionals with a global and intercultural vision,” added the manager.

These types of experiences reflect the University of Cundinamarca's commitment to training citizens capable of understanding global challenges from a human, critical, and transformative perspective, promoting the construction of knowledge in the service of society and the development of the territories.

Through the Dialoguing with the World strategy, the Institution continues to promote international cooperation scenarios that enrich academic, research, and cultural processes, strengthening the comprehensive training of its Knowledge and Learning Managers and consolidating an education connected to the global context.
