Latin American Network of Translocal Universities – REDLUT
Based on the initiative of the President of the University of Cundinamarca, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, the proposal has been generated to establish the Latin American Network of Translocal Universities to promote, in coordination with the mission functions of the University of Cundinamarca, a Transmodern community, giving priority to Latin America. Therefore, the question arises: Why is this network so important for education in Latin America?.
REDLUT is a living network of knowledge generated and consolidated, together with the sister institutions of UCundinamarca, through inter-institutional agreements for regional, national, or international cooperation. Therefore, cooperation among the members of the network is sought to strengthen the concept of transmodernity in the Latin American continent and thus promote that philosophy of liberation proposed by the Argentine author Enrique Dussel, where he maintains:
“... the fact that other cultures, until now despised and unvalued, are emerging from beyond the horizon of European modernity is not a mere miracle born out of nothingness, but the return of the authors of that history in other recent eras. Although Western culture is globalizing “at certain technical, economic, political, and military levels,” it does not thereby exhaust other moments of enormous creativity at those same levels that other living, resistant, and growing cultures affirm from their exteriority.
