The different departments of the University have participated in the construction of the Development Plan and the guidelines have been taken from the Institutional Educational Project –PEI–, the University Strategic Plan 2016-2026 “Designing the University we want”, the Rector's Plan 2015-2019 “UCundinamarca Generation 21st Century” presented by the rector, Adriano Muñoz Barrera; the strategic fronts have been taken from this last document as a starting point.
For the methodology, techniques of Strategic Planning have been used, highlighting that for the collection of information the contributions made by the academic community made up of students, professors, administrative staff, graduates and/or alumni and the productive sector have been decisive, through the conversations carried out by the rector of the University.

In order to publicize the strategic fronts proposed in the Rector's Plan and to begin the collective construction of Development Plan “University of Cundinamarca: 21st Century Generation” 2016 – 2019, In 2016, the university community was invited to participate in talks with the rector, Adriano Muñoz Barrera, which took place in the different branches and extensions of the institution.
In this way, students, professors, administrative officials and directors made valuable contributions to the consolidation of the methods of application of the strategies for the development and growth of UCundinamarca during the four-year period 2016 – 2019.
From the Emilio Sierra Baquero auditorium at the Fusagasugá campus, with the attendance of more than 350 students, the socialization day of the development plan was broadcast via streaming to all students of the institution.
Through a Skype Business session that lasted about four hours, the teachers from each of the extensions and branches of our institution received the socialization of the Development Plan to advance in the implementation of the strategic academic, research, financial, administrative and mission guidelines.
