Sociology of Sport | José Ignacio Barbero Gonzáles | 1991 | Source: Educational Information Network

It becomes clear that much of the work in the sociology of sport cannot be considered strictly sociological, since the authors' basic training is limited to the field of physical education and sports. It was in the late 1960s that more ideas emerged and greater diversity of sociological thought applied to sport appeared. These changes are related to the development of new sociologies and critical movements within the discipline itself. A historical overview of the sociology of sport is presented to contextualize some writings, problems, and perspectives. The specific case of the sociology of sport in Spain is also examined.

Attitudes Towards Disability and Teacher Intervention from Adapted Sport | Santana Cansado, P. and Garoz Puerta, I. Garcia | 2011 | Source: International Journal of Sport Sciences Ricyde

This paper presents the results of a pre-experimental study conducted with 82 third-year secondary school students (ages 14-16) from a secondary school in Madrid. The study aimed to understand these students' attitudes toward disability and to evaluate whether an intervention program, implemented through an Adapted Sports Teaching Unit, addressed three attitudinal components: cognitive (the idea), affective (the emotion), and behavioral (the predisposition to action). To assess these changes, an adapted version of the questionnaire developed by Verdugo, Arias, and Jenaro (1994) was used. The results demonstrate the program's effectiveness, as the differences between the pre-test and post-test scores were statistically significant.

Virtual School of Sport

Evd 1

The approach of the Pedagogical Model is based on the development of competencies through elements that systematically articulate 4 dimensions: pedagogical, communicative, technological and leadership, facilitating the design of a virtual environment characterized by timely information of the training program, such as integration into a learning context, the identification of a proposed learning methodology or path, fed by materials (practices, examples, exercises) that allow monitoring of the progress of each participant (self-evaluation).
