Cultivation of the knowledge and practices inherent to Sport Science, Physical Education, and Recreation for professional training, social progress, and physical culture in the service of the development of Human Talent, identity, quality, and enjoyment of life in the region, the Department, and the Country.

The Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education must be an Academic Community oriented towards the construction of a center for the production and dissemination of knowledge and professional exchange in the field of physical culture, both at the National and International levels; through permanent processes of qualified Research, the strengthening of cultural identity, training and professional practice in the service of human talent development, taking into account the aspirations for transformation in the fields of Education, Ecology, Science, Technology, and Culture of the Country.

Historical Overview

Starts as a program of Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, created by Agreement No. 001 of the Board of Directors of the TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF CUNDINAMARCA of April 12, 1976.

The March 25, 1977, ICFES issues Agreement No. 39, by which the commencement of activities is authorized. The program it begins operating in the First Semester of 1977 with 42 students.

In 1978 was granted Business License and subsequently the Approval License by means of Agreement No. 021 of March 1980.

The ICFES renew the Bachelor's degree approval by Agreement No. 0258 of the 8th of September 1981.

The Higher Council, through Agreement No. 0035 of October 8, 1996 create THE FACULTY OF SPORT SCIENCE AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION
