GRAMMAR OLYMPICS
The Grammar Olympics is an interactive tournament offered by the Humanities Department of the University of Cundinamarca, with the aim of developing writing, proofreading, and spelling skills in all students, selecting those with the best spelling skills, and recognizing the winners through incentives and bonuses in the Communication and Critical Reading Academic Center.
Like the Olympic Games, our grammar competition has different levels of participation. It's structured in three rounds: two qualifying rounds and one competition round. In the first round, teachers from the Humanities Cross-Cutting Area will select the best students from each classroom where they teach the Communication and Critical Reading 1 and 2 courses. In the second round, teachers will select the two best students per campus or extension, not per classroom. In the final round, the top students from each campus compete synchronously and virtually.
LEVELS
The narrative-literary genre is an excellent tool for exploring new situations, worlds, and references through stories and fiction. You expand your inner world and project new passions and ways of understanding. Here you'll find links to global libraries with literary resources of all kinds, from Nobel Prize winners to genres like horror, romance, and urban fiction, among others.
Culture is everything that collectively expresses who and what we are. Our roots, traditions, practices, and imaginaries: film, music, philosophy, painting, dance, visual arts, gastronomy, among others; here you will find references not only from Cundinamarca, but from the entire world. Remember that we understand an author, a work, or an action when we understand the entire cultural and historical context that surrounds it.
If you want to delve deeper into your discipline, you'll almost certainly end up connecting with other areas when you try to solve a problem. Therefore, in this space, you'll explore how critical reading leads to cross-disciplinary connections between your discipline and other fields of study. A problem can be approached from different perspectives, and many voices and areas of expertise are needed to find the answer that each context demands.
