Lecture series begins at UDEC

The first day was held with a clear message: “Let's create a strategic plan to consolidate the Institutional Educational Plan we deserve.”. 

The first discussion panel with professors was held on February 23, 2015, in the Emilio Sierra Baquero Auditorium at the Fusagasugá campus, where guidelines and an initial vision were established that, when included within the current context of society, aim to take the Institution into a new phase that allows for the construction of “a public, autonomous, visible, and scientific University.” This was stated by hundreds of professors who, during a working session through networks of thought, generated ideas about the future of our University.  

The event was chaired by the (Interim) President Dr. Adriano Muñoz Barrera, who assured that these spaces are vital for creating an environment of trust and change, achieving the academic projection of the Institution. The Academic Vice President, Dr. Yuri Alexander Poveda, stated in his speech: “The professor is the living and critical memory that makes the University possible,” as an expression symbolizing the importance of professors for the present and future of this process.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Cesar Zabala, stated: “The starting point of quality is being oneself. Quality is built with good teachers,” urging that teachers must participate without any restrictions in these reflective spaces given their importance in the execution of the plans.

The result of the working tables will be the main input for the construction of the strategic plan and the institutional educational plan, which will be presented as a product of these discussions held at the different points of the institution.
