Historical Overview

Since its origin in 1969, the Technical University Institute of Cundinamarca-ITUC, known today as the University of Cundinamarca-UDEC, has been concerned with the training of humanist professionals from the population of Cundinamarca who integrate their university thinking, through a joint and universal vision of the problems of man and the world.

Since its establishment, that is, since 1992, the University has tirelessly sought to train humanist professionals with a scientific and technological foundation in accordance with the socioeconomic, cultural, geopolitical, and educational moment of the population of Cundinamarca, with an impact on local, national, and international development policies.

Through Agreement 023 of July 4, 2007, the University of Cundinamarca created the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Political Sciences.

Today, this Faculty is part of the academic life of UCundinamarca with the operation of the Music program.

Science, Technology, and Innovation/University Interaction

 UDECARTE GROUP

Projects in development:

The musical production of Maestro Guillermo Quevedo Sornoza: a brief biographical and musical reconstruction.

Group presentation:

In the UDEC music program, we are convinced that institutions that endure and influence society are based on the constant strengthening of their values and culture. In this sense, research in human sciences and artistic creation are understood in the UDEC music program as the component that integrates the understanding of universal musical tradition with the daily practice of the craft and the projection of music as an art that articulates holistically with the issues of contemporary humanity. The members of UDECARTE develop projects and carry out initiatives that seek to foster dialogue between the university, the national and international academic community, and society in general, with the purpose of maintaining constant feedback and reflection as an educational agent and producer of new knowledge.
