About us

In 1998, the University of Cundinamarca acquired the La Esperanza Agro-environmental Unit, a 25.6-hectare property located in the Guavio Bajo district of the municipality of Fusagasugá. In 2013, it began cultivating coffee there with the Castilla, Colombia, and Caturra varieties, which are managed using technical methods and according to good agricultural practices to produce coffee that meets the criteria for specialty coffee.

We are the result of the articulation of processes derived from academic, scientific and technological activity, through research, practices, internships and experiential learning with our students and teachers of the Agronomic Engineering Program in order to apply theoretical-practical knowledge in productive scenarios.

Our coffee is also the product of the dialogue of knowledge between students, teachers and coffee growers, integrating different dimensions such as family, nature, society, the person, the classroom, culture and the institution.
