Software Engineering, with its distinctive features and in accordance with its educational model, defines:

The program focuses on helping students develop skills in software analysis, testing, and security to strengthen economic, business, social, and environmental sustainability processes in the department of Cundinamarca.

| Approval by the Academic Council through Act 23 of November 3, 2020, to initiate the process before the Ministry of Education to obtain Qualified Registration. | Authorization by the Superior Council through Agreement 01 of January 21, 2021, a collegiate body that authorizes the presentation and request for the Qualified Registration before the Ministry of National Education of Colombia, according to current regulations. | The Ministry of National Education grants the Qualified Registration to the program through resolution 986 of 2009. |

The Software Engineering program has the GINDESOFT Research Group, categorized as Category C by Colciencias, where research processes are developed within the program's research lines: Learning, knowledge, technologies, communication and digitization; Management, entrepreneurship, social organizations of knowledge and learning; Transmodernity, nature, environment, biodiversity, ancestry and family; and the following research groups: SESOFT and INFOSOFT.
