The graduate of the Industrial Engineering Program at UCundinamarca will be able to work in companies from various public and/or private sector fields or in their own organization, performing the following functions:

 

  • Direct and/or advise engineering plans, programs, and projects.
  • Manage processes associated with quality and environmental management in any productive environment.
  • Develop and lead research, innovation, and development projects.
  • Manage logistics and supply chain systems in any organization.
  • Support and lead the digital transformation processes of organizations through data analytics.
  • Lead productive projects related to the rural and regional development of the department.

Training Purpose

  • Train engineers with knowledge in management, process improvement, and organizational, production, and logistical systems, who contribute to the achievement of company objectives by optimizing the use of its constituent resources.
  • Train engineers who contribute to the social and business processes of the department, through the formulation of projects that relate the functions of university social interaction and science, technology, and innovation in translocal environments.
  • To train engineers capable of generating solutions to problems in the different processes and links of the supply chain, contributing to the productivity and competitiveness of organizations, supported by the mediation of technological components and data science in topics specific to industrial engineering.

General Objective

 

To train well-rounded professionals for the economic and social development of the region and the country, who possess a solid foundation in science and engineering knowledge, with the ability to adapt to change and with initiative for business management, taking into account: “The design of organizational systems”"Training professionals in the field of Industrial Engineering and developing in them the competitive entrepreneurial spirit that allows them to transform the globalized environment, within a framework of values that integrates their vocation and professional training, as well as their comprehensive education.".

 

Specific Objectives

 

  • To prepare Industrial Engineers with a logical, analytical, critical and innovative spirit, practical and visionary with the ability to make decisions in an environment of economic, social, political and cultural uncertainty.
  • To provide the student with up-to-date multidisciplinary knowledge, with a solid theoretical and practical foundation in physical sciences and mathematics and basic technologies in Engineering, enabling them to increase the efficiency and productivity of organizations at any level.
  • To train industrial engineers with leadership skills, committed to the development of society and with an appreciation for the cultural, historical, social and environmental values of their environment.
  • To train industrial engineers with a spirit of generating companies and with the necessary skills to create and manage them, taking into account: ethics, humanities, language and respect for people.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING SOACHA

 

The Industrial Engineering program has a Research Group in Industrial and Environmental Processes (GIPIA) recognized by MinCiencias and collaborates with the GINDESOF Research Group, category C (affiliated with the Software Engineering program). Formative research processes are developed within the framework of the SIPMA, SIEDES, SOFTIC, and SocSac Research Seedbeds.
