Work-Life Balance
The efr work-life, family, academic and professional balance is the set of proposals and actions that, going beyond current and binding legislation, an organization offers its employees in order to meet their needs and expectations without affecting its competitiveness, with the objective of providing them with a more balanced life project between the personal and the professional, more fulfilling, and ultimately, with a better quality of life.
Work-life balance is nowadays a strategic issue for organizations since it significantly affects their results through numerous variables such as reputation, CSR and sustainability, commitment, remuneration efficiency, diversity or equal opportunities, and organizational health and well-being (https://www.masfamilia.org/conciliacion/).
EFR measures
: EFR measures constitute the range of work-life balance support services designed to make personal and family life more compatible and balanced with academic, work, and professional life, within a necessary framework of sustainability and competitiveness, which each educational institution offers to its employees, students, and their families. (EFR Policy Document No. 3000-1, 2nd Edition, 2021).
The University of Cundinamarca, through the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT), is committed to “the development of the individual; consequently, the purpose of the educational process is to ensure that every action taken contributes to the betterment of life, the individual, society, civility, democracy, nature, and freedom.”.
Referring to the 2020-2023 Development Plan, Front No. 3, Translocal Transmodern Culture, energized through the Cultural Learning Field, “the university community made up of professors (managers of knowledge and learning), students, graduates, parents, directors, and administrative staff constitutes the nuclear component of it, inasmuch as it is the one that leads the transformation, action, and reinvention of the University.” Also, it is necessary to build and consolidate a learning community in which the principles and values that inspire and give life to the Transmodern Digital Educational Model (MEDIT) circulate and are evidenced.
Similarly, the Development Plan states: “Translocal Transmodern Culture (TTC) is aimed at achieving a regulative ideal of constant improvement, understood from the perspective of the other, living beings, and nature, which is based on the following principles and values: life, human dignity, solidarity, fraternity, happiness, love, diversity and plurality, respect, the common good, coexistence, autonomy, freedom, responsibility, civility, and dialogical and formative construction” (Muñoz Barrera, 2019).
