About us

A little over 17 years ago, my mother was producing coffee using traditional methods. She roasted the coffee beans in a wood-burning stove and a cauldron, then washed the mucilage and left it to dry in the sun before taking it to the town square to sell in bulk. I wondered, "How can I improve the quality of the coffee my mother produces?" About 15 years later, with a hectare of coffee planted in the mountains near the Guavio reservoir, the "CAFE DE LA MONTAÑA" brand was born. Little by little, and over time, I learned the different techniques for obtaining a pure, organically produced 100% coffee with added value. The need not only to obtain an income to support the family, but also the desire to present an innovative, organic and excellent quality product to the market, has led me to reinvent the way of producing and transforming coffee into something special.

Production

"CAFE DE LA MONTAÑA" is produced in the municipality of Ubalá, Cundinamarca, on the shores of the Guavio reservoir. Approximately one hectare is cultivated with the Colombia and Caturra varieties, located at approximately 1800 meters above sea level. The drying process is done in the sun, reaching a moisture content of 101% TP3T. It can be considered a semi-industrial process, as the beans are roasted and vacuum-packed using specialized machines. It is worth noting that the cultivation is 100% organic, guaranteeing high-quality beans with a smooth and sweet flavor. The coffee is roasted to different levels: light, medium-low, medium, medium-high, and dark, according to the consumer's preference, and is sold in three sizes: 500g, 1000g, and 2500g.
